Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar, a British American artist and a sitarist is best known for her musical talents. She was the first person within her age bracket to receive an award from the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is one of the Indian young sitar singer. She is Ravi Shankar's student and is also his daughter. Born in London in 1982 and began her life by hopping back and forth to London as well as New Delhi. Her debut concert was on stage in New Delhi at the tender age of 13. In Encinitas CA in 1999 she received an honorary high school diploma. Anouskha is still pursuing a successful career in recording and performing even though she's only a teenager. She has been performing with her father in the stage for a long time. The singer has released Anourag her first solo album in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years later than her first solo album. Stage performance is a large part of her career. She's played in many famous venues around the world. Anoushka's career goes beyond music. She released Bapi the Love of My Life in the year 2002. This is a picture biography that pays tribute to her dad Ravi Shankar. She also acted on the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. The role she played was that of as a Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shakar's professional career will continue to grow and expand. Then, she relocated to California for high school. In Delhi on his birthday, which was celebrated at the age of 75 Anoushka first made an appearance playing the sitar in front of an audience four years following her nine-year-old father. Anoushka, who accompanied her father throughout his global tour, gained an impressive number of experiences. In her teenage years she appeared at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. The youngest female to receive the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament to recognize her talent and musicianship in the Asian Arts.
